Christina Stalnaker - Rishi Yoga

I draw my inspiration from traditional Himalayan Yoga practices and the philosophy of Patanjali, the great Rishi (sage) and author of the Yoga Sutras. In each class, we integrate the Eight Limbs of Yoga, with an emphasis on breathing, meditation, energy work, and connecting to nature.

My Journey

My yoga path began over 15 years ago as a young officer in the U.S. Army. After sustaining multiple spinal injuries during my service, I turned to yoga for conservative pain management and discovered profound healing that went beyond the physical.

While serving a year-long tour in Afghanistan, working alongside Afghan National Police Women and witnessing the many tragedies of war, I was inspired to follow a different path. I've dedicated my life to spreading the wisdom of yoga and guiding others to inner peace—believing that through inner peace we will achieve peace throughout the world.

Following in the footsteps of the great yogis, I returned to South Asia—this time to stay and learn at the incredible yoga ashrams in Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of Yoga. I've completed over 1,000 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with specializations in Himalayan Yoga and Meditation, Yoga Psychology, Restorative Yoga, Somatic Intuitive Healing, and Mindfulness Meditation.

Teaching Experience

For the past 8 years, I've been guiding students on their yoga journeys. During this time, I've led numerous workshops and retreats across the U.S., founded the Wild Idaho Yoga Festival on the Selway River, and support my fellow teachers through the Idaho County Yoga Teachers Collective.

My Approach

My classes offer a calming, inward-focused experience that incorporates energy and breathwork. I emphasize mindfulness, somatic awareness, and alignment with the rhythms of nature to help you cultivate inner peace and connect with your true self.

Join me on the mat as we journey together toward balance, healing, and calm.
